Abstract
The ectomycorrhizae of Tomentella albomarginata are comprehensively described and compared to ectomycorrhizae of other Tomentella species and to ectomycorrhizae of some members of Thelephoraceae ss. Stalpers and Bankeraceae ss. Stalpers. The ectomycorrhizae of T. albomarginata are characterized by a hyphal net lying on a pseudoparenchymatous mantle surface, by tubular outgrowths of irregularly angular mantle cells, and by clamp-bearing emanating hyphae.
