Abstract

A promising solution of a cost-effective drive-train for electric vehicles is the “Intelligent Stator Cage Drive (ISCAD)”. In this paper the characteristics of a 48 V ISCAD traction drive system for electric passenger cars with a power beyond 100 kW will be described. Chances and challenges will be discussed.
