Ingenieurwissenschaftliche Ausbildung im österreichischen FH-Sektor

Der österreichische Fachhochschul-Sektor hat sich seit seiner Gründung im Jahr 1994 sehr dynamisch entwickelt. Zum gegenwärtigen Zeitpunkt (Studienjahr 2005/06) gibt es in Österreich insgesamt 18 Erhalter und 150 angebotene FH-Studiengänge mit ca. 28.000 Studienplätzen. Der Artikel behandelt den Bildungsauftrag der FH-Studiengänge und betont die gesellschaftliche Verantwortung der Ingenieure. Er bietet einige Auswertungen zum Stand der Entwicklung der Bachelor-/Masterstudiengänge und der ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Ausbildung im FH-Sektor.

The Austrian Fachhochschule (FH) sector has a fairly short history. It was newly set up in 1994 and is still developing. Meanwhile (academic year 2005/06) there are 18 institutions offering 150 programmes with about 28.000 study places. The article deals with the educational goal of the FH degree programmes and highlights the social responsibility of engineers. It provides an overview about the reorganisation of the degree programmes in line with the Bologna-process and the engineering education in the Austrian FH sector.
