Process support systems architecture as the telco operator's success factor

Die Konvergenz von Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologie bringt viele Möglichkeiten für die Gesellschaft und stellt die Unternehmen dieser Branche, vor allem die klassischen Telekommunikationsbetreiber, vor große Herausforderungen. Die Dynamik am Markt und die zunehmende Konvergenz unterschiedlicher Technologien und Produkte erfordert eine Evolution unternehmensinterner Strukturen und Prozesse. Der Schlüssel zum Erfolg ist dabei die Anpassung der Architektur prozessunterstützender IT-Systeme zur Reduktion von Durchlaufzeiten und zur Erhöhung der Agilität und Anpassungsfähigkeit. Aufgrund der Historie und innerbetrieblicher Faktoren fordert diese hoch komplexe Aufgabe das gesamte Unternehmen und ist nur durch das konsequente, schrittweise Vorgehen der Architekturmethode zu lösen.

Convergence of information and communication technologies provides on one hand the society with a variety of new possibilities, and on the other hand challenges the companies in this market. Especially the incumbent telco operators have to redesign their internal structures and processes in response to the increasing dynamic and functional convergence. The key factor to success is the architectural evolution of the process supporting IT-systems to reduce process lead times and enhance flexibility. This highly complex mission challenges the whole company due to internal history and influences. Only a methodical step-by-step architectural approach facilitates the company to keep or even more to increase its competitiveness.
