Abstract

The paper presents a general formulation of the damage description for quasi-brittle polycrystalline materials. The state of degradation is described by the second order tensor D, the components of which are evaluated with the help of micromechanics. Within the proposed formalism both quasistatic and dynamic material response can be analyzed.
