Adoption und die mythopoietische Funktion

Zusammenfassung

Anlässlich der Adoption von Kindern gewinnt die Fähigkeit von Paaren und Familien zur Neugestaltung von Bindungen Bedeutung. Der Prozess der Affiliation-Filiation ist mit der Möglichkeit verbunden, mit dem Unbekannten abzurechnen, das durch das unvermeidbare Fremdsein eines Adoptivkindes in einer Familie an die Oberfläche gelangt. Das Familienleben erfährt dadurch einen Evolutionsschub, wenn es gelingt, das Neue zu integrieren. Es erfordert allerdings psychische Arbeit, bis jedes Individuum sein Projekt erfolgreich zu Ende geführt hat, einerseits „Glied einer Kette“ und andererseits eigenständiges Subjekt zu sein. Dieser Prozess geht über die Funktion des Mythos der Familie, die Mythopoiesis, hinaus. Indem die Kreation eines neuen Mythos Bindung erschafft, kann das Adoptivkind ein Gefühl der Zugehörigkeit zur Familie entwickeln (Affiliation). Die Adoption kann die Chance bieten, eine neue Familiengeschichte zu schreiben, die in ihren neuen Mustern und neu entstandenen Mythen das Unbekannte und Unerkennbare des Kindes aufnimmt und es zum Teil der „neuen“ Familie werden lässt.

Abstract

When adopting children, the ability of couples and families to redesign bonds becomes more important than before. The process of affiliation and filiation is connected with the possibility of coping with the unknown, which comes to the surface due to the unavoidable strangeness of an adoptive child in a family. Family life thus experiences an evolutionary thrust, if it is possible to integrate the newcomer. This requires, however, psychological work until each individual has successfully completed his project, on the one hand to be a “link of a chain” and on the other to be an autonomous subject. This process goes beyond the function of mythcreation of the family, the mythopoetic. By creating a new myth, the adoptive child can develop a sense of belonging to the family (affiliation). Thus, adoption can provide the opportunity to write a new family history that, in its new patterns and new myths, takes up the unknown and unknowable of the child and makes it part of the “new” family.
