Trauma und Transgenerationalität

Zusammenfassung

Im vorliegenden Beitrag befasst sich der Autor mit der Frage, ob, und wenn ja, wie erlittene Traumata über Generationen hinweg weitergegeben werden. Hierzu wird eine besondere psychotherapeutische Sichtweise eingenommen, deren Basis die Intersubjektivitätstheorie ist, die von der Autorengruppe um Robert D. Stolorow entwickelt wurde. Die Arbeit beginnt mit einer kurzen Einführung in die wesentlichen Grundlagen der Intersubjektivitätstheorie und deren Auswirkungen auf den Behandlungsalltag. Hieraus leitet sich dann auch die Notwendigkeit einer konsequent beziehungsanalytischen Definition des Traumabegriffes ab, die im zweiten Abschnitt entworfen und diskutiert wird. Dabei kommt es zu einer kritischen Auseinandersetzung mit den „Traumatherapien“. Es werden dann drei prototypische Formen der Weitergabe traumatischer Ereignisse auf der Basis intersubjektiver, mutueller Prozesse herausgearbeitet und mit einer Fallvignette illustriert. Besonderes Gewicht legt der Autor dabei auf ein Szenario, das als „Truman-Syndrom“ beschrieben wird. Es verdeutlicht, auf welche Art und Weise scheinbar „heile Welten“ einen hoch wirksamen und pathogenen Kern von Organisationsprinzipien affektiver Erfahrung beinhalten können, der eine gesunde seelische Entwicklung gravierend beeinträchtigt. Den Abschluss bilden einige behandlungspraktische Hinweise.

Abstract

The present paper deals with the question, if sustained traumata are transmitted into following generations and if this proves to be the case, by what means does it take place. Therefore a special psychotherapeutic view is taken, based on the intersubjective theory as it was developed by the group around the American psychoanalyst Robert D. Stolorow. The paper starts with a short introduction into the essentials of intersubjective theory and their consequences for clinical work. Based on this, a consequent relational definition of the concept of trauma is given, which is outlined and discussed in the second part. A critical discussion of the „trauma therapies“ follows. Then three prototypic forms of transmittance of traumatic occurrences, based on intersubjective and mutual processes are developed and illustrated by a clinical example. Special attention is paid to a scenario labeled as the „Truman syndrome“. It illuminates how seemingly „perfect worlds“ can contain a highly effective and pathogenic core of organizing principles of affective experience, which is able to impede a healthy development seriously. The article ends with some practical remarks regarding the treatment.
