Die Vielfalt der Persönlichkeit—Gefährdung der Einheit der Person?

Zusammenfassung

Der einheitlich erscheinenden und der in verschiedenen Facetten sich manifestierenden Persönlichkeit wird eine Kohärenz stiftende, Synthese ermöglichende Person (Subjectum) supponiert. Einheit und Vielfalt sind als kulturelle Ideale prägend, bilden aber kaum die Vielgestaltigkeit des Vorfindbaren ab. Vielfalt, Facettenreichtum der Persönlichkeit, u. U. sogar postmoderne "patchwork identity" dürfen aber nicht vorschnell als dissoziativ gedeutet werden. Dissoziation ist ein Interpretationsinstrument, das manche Beobachtungen in der weiten Spanne von adaptiv-funktionstüchtig bis maladaptiv-pathologisch zu deuten erlaubt. Zu den so zu deutenden Pathologien müssen dann auch die dissoziative Identitätsstörung, die Borderline-Pathologie und die schwerste Form der Dissoziation, die Ich-Fragmentation bei den sog. Schizophrenien, hinzugefügt werden.

Abstract

Uniformity against manifold faces of a personality are manifest presentations of a supposed underlying person (subjectum) as its synthetic-cohesive potential. The association-psychology of the 19th century brought forward the concept of dissociation, which allows to interpret a broad spectrum of phenomena between adaptive functioning (salutary) and maladaptive, dysfunctional phenomena of psychopathology: it opens a dimensional perspective which includes dissociative identity disorder, dissociative trance disorder, borderline-pathologies and the most severe forms of ego/self-dissociation, -fragmentation in schizophrenic disorders.
