Pyoderma gangrenosum in childhood - the importance of early recognition

Abstract.

A paediatric case of pyoderma gangrenosum is presented with the intention of increasing awareness of this uncommon ulcerative cutaneous condition which may occur in association with systemic disease. Early diagnosis and identification of any associated disorder are critical to management. Since the disease is even less common in children, they are particularly at risk of diagnostic delay.
