1 Correction to: Archive for History of Exact Sciences https://doi.org/10.1007/s00407-022-00293-8
A mistake due to the usage of a footnote in a subsection headline was noted in the online first publication of the article. It occurs in the headline and the first paragraph of Sect. 2.2. Its correction depends on whether the article is accessed directly via a web browser or the article is viewed as a pdf.
For the pdf:
The texts in footnote 63 and 64 should be interchanged.
For the web browser version:
The text of endnote 63 refers to the quote given in the title of subsection 2.2. At the current location of the endnote mark 63, after the quotes by Van Vleck in the first paragraph, another endnote should have been inserted which reads: “Note that Van Vleck did not even bother to discuss an interpretation of the formulas in a processual way but rather warned the reader not to confound the term intermediate as referring to the energy of the state lying in between the initial and final state.”
