Abstract
Sarcoidosis rarely coincides with gynecologic malignancy and thus, may be misdiagnosed as metastatic cancer. We present a 50-year-old patient who was initially treated for cervical carcinoma. She later presented with persistent coughing and mediastinal lymphadenopathy, suspicious for metastatic disease. Following final pathology, a diagnosis of sarcoidosis was made. Sarcoidosis is rarely associated with cervical carcinoma. However, the disease should be considered when metastatic pulmonary disease is suspected in order to avoid excessive or inappropriate treatment.
