Zusammenfassung

Die Firma St. Jude Medical stellt den implantierbaren Loop-Rekorder (ILR) Confirm AF DM2102 her, der sich durch subkutane Elektroden auf beiden Seiten des Geräts, einen speziellen Wahrnehmungsalgorithmus und umfangreiche Speichermöglichkeiten für bis zu 147 Episoden auszeichnet. Die Zuverlässigkeit der Detektion von Vorhofflimmern wurde in der DETECT-AF-Studie untersucht. Er ist bedingt MRT-kompatibel und kann vom Patienten auch von zuhause abgefragt werden. Die Daten werden mittels Telefonübertragung an das Nachsorgezentrum übermittelt. Letzteres erfolgt über einen Patienten-Aktivator und ist derzeit noch relativ komplex und langsam, sodass diese Option für ältere Patienten nur selten in Frage kommt. Für Ende 2016 ist die Markteinführung eines wesentlich kleineren ILR von St. Jude Medical mit modernerer Technologie geplant.

Abstract

St. Jude Medical produces the implantable loop recorder (ILR) Confirm AF DM2102 which offers subcutaneous electrodes on both sides of the device, a specific sensing algorithm and extensive storage capacity for up to 147 episodes. The reliability of detection of atrial fibrillation (AF) has been evaluated in the DETECT-AF study. The device is MR-conditional and allows patients an interrogation at home. The data are transferred to the follow-up centre via telephone by the patient activator, although this process is currently rather complex and slow. Therefore, remote monitoring of the Confirm AF DM2102 is rarely an option for elderly patients. St. Jude medical announced the introduction of a new, substantially smaller ILR using more modern technology by the end of 2016.
