Lokalisiertes fibröses Pleuramesotheliom

Zusammenfassung

Das lokalisierte, fibröse Pleuramesotheliom ist ein seltener Tumor. Die Weltliteratur kennt weniger als 600 Fälle. Sein histologisches Bild ist geprägt von fibroblastoiden Zellen, umgeben von Bindegewebe. Der Tumor wächst im Gegensatz zum malignen Pleuramesotheliom immer lokalisiert und konnte bisher nicht in Zusammenhang mit einer Asbestexposition gebracht werden. Seine Prognose ist als gut angesehen. Anhand zweier Fälle wird das erhebliche Wachstumspotential und die Fähigkeit des Tumors zur Invasion benachbarter Strukturen dargestellt. Diese Eigenschaften und die Tatsache, daß nach radikaler Resektion Rezidive beobachtet wurden, legen nahe, die Diagnose „benignes” Pleuramesotheliom zu überdenken. Im Gegensatz zum malignen Pleuramesotheliom bietet nur die chirurgische Therapie des lokalisierten, fibrösen Pleuramesothelioms eine Chance auf Heilung.

Summary

The localized, fibrous pleura mesothelioma is a rare tumor. Less than 600 cases are reported in the literature all over the world. The histological picture of this tumor is filled with fibroblastic cells inside the connective tissues. This type of cancer is known to grow in one spot contrary to the malignant pleura mesothelioma type and there is no relation with asbestis exposure. The prognosis nevertheless is good. In the two cases shown here there was a great potential of growth and the tumor also had the ability to invade adjacent tissue. This ability, which was observed despite radical recurrent resection led us to reconsider our diagnosis „benign pleura mesothelioma”. Contrary to the malignant pleura mesothelioma, surgery is the only curative method for the pleura fibrom.
