Zusammenfassung
In diesem Beitrag werden die Ätiologie, die Pathophysiologie sowie die konservative und chirurgische Behandlung thorakaler Aortenaneurysmata dargestellt. Der Fokus liegt hierbei auf dem Aortenbogen und der Aorta descendens. Die diesbezügliche aktuelle Literatur findet kritische Berücksichtigung.
Abstract
This article presents an overview of the etiology and pathophysiology as well as conservative and surgical treatment of thoracic aortic aneurysms. The focus is on aneurysms of the aortic arch and the descending aorta. The currently available relevant literature sources are critically assessed.

Es sollte eine postoperative Anbindung an ein interdisziplinäres Aortenzentrum angestrebt werden.
Es sollte nach aktueller Leitlinie der Aortenbogen ab einem Diameter ≥ 55 mm prothetisch ersetzt werden.
