Womit bewegen wir unsere Autos morgen tatsächlich?

Zusammenfassung

In der wechselvollen Geschichte der Automobilentwicklung gab es immer wieder Ansätze, den vielen Menschen so logisch erscheinenden Einbau des Elektromotors in unsere Fahrzeuge vorzunehmen und so den Verbrennungsmotor abzulösen und kaum jemandem ist bekannt, dass das allererste Auto elektrisch angetrieben wurde. Genauso wenig publik ist die Tatsache, dass die Energiebilanz der im Vormarsch begriffenen Elektromobile so gut nicht ist: hinsichtlich der CO₂-Emission ist es bestenfalls gleichauf, meist aber sogar schlechter als ein Auto mit Verbrennungsmotor. Auch kann aktuell die Frage der auf künftige Nutzer zukommenden Anschaffungs- und Unterhaltskosten nur zu Teilen realistisch beantwortet werden, denn wäre das Elektromobil erst einmal Standard der Fortbewegung, entfielen natürlich auch die bisher gewährten Vorteile beispielsweise hinsichtlich anfallender Steuern. Nicht zuletzt mangelt dieses Modell an Akzeptanz innerhalb der potenziellen Käufer. Nachfolgender Beitrag versteht sich als kritische Bestandsaufnahme in Sachen Elektromobilität.

Abstract

In the diverse history of automobile development, there have again and again been attempts by many people to build a car with an electric engine – which appears logical – in order to replace the combustion engine, but hardly anyone knows that the very first car had an electric engine. Just as little known is the fact that the energy balance of the upcoming electric cars is not so good: with respect to the CO₂ emissions, it is, at best, just as good, but is often worse than a car with a combustion engine. For the upcoming users, the question of who will pay for the upcoming acquisition and maintenance costs can currently only be partially answered realistically, because if the electric car does become the standard of locomotion, then the advantages that have previously been granted would naturally disappear, e.g., with respect to applicable taxes. Finally, this model lacks acceptance by potential buyers. The present contribution is a critical discourse on the topic of electric mobility.
