Abstract

Spontaneous multivessel dissection of the coronary arteries is a rare clinical entity of unclear etiology. In this article, the authors report a case of multiple coronary artery dissection, presumably associated with combined transdermal hormone therapy in a postmenopausal woman, which was treated by coronary bypass grafting. In addition, the current state of knowledge concerning pathogenesis and treatment of this, in most cases, fatal disease is presented.
