Right middle lobe syndrome in Marfan's disease. A case report

Zusammenfassung

Das Marfan-Syndrom (MFS) manifestiert sich klinisch als Folge der herabgesetzten Zugfestigkeit des Bindegewebes. Bronchiektasen als pulmonale Manifestationen des MFS sind beschrieben. Bekannt ist weiterhin, dass Bronchiektasen zum Mittellappensyndrom der rechten Lunge führen (RMLS), aber die Assoziation von MFS mit RMLS wurde noch nicht beschrieben. Wir berichten von einem Fall von MFS mit RMLS.

Abstract

Clinical manifestations of Marfan's syndrome (MFS) are secondary to reduced tensile strength of connective tissue. Bronchiectasis as a pulmonary manifestation of MFS has been reported. It is well documented that bronchiectasis may lead to right middle lobe syndrome (RMLS) but the association of MFS and RMLS has never been reported. We report a case of MS with RMLS.
