Summary

During the last few years, surgical therapy of atrial fibrillation has changed significantly. Today there are many ablative procedures which partially lead to similar results as the Maze procedure. But on the other hand, they may result in serious side effects. Therefore, we report on our first positive experiences with the epicardial cryoablation procedure.
