Abstract.

Poly(butylene carbonate) was found to form crystalline inclusion complexes with α-cyclodextrin and γ-cyclodextrin, but it did not form crystalline inclusion complex with β-cyclodextrin. The crystalline inclusion complexes are also called pseudopolyrotaxanes. Thermogravimetric analysis, FTIR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, 1H NMR spectroscopy, 2D NOESY NMR spectroscopy and 13C cross-polarization magic-angle-spinning NMR spectroscopy were used to characterize the structures and properties of those crystalline inclusion complexes.
