Summary.

Azathioprine has been used in rheumatology for more than twenty years. Indications are collagen diseases with multiorgan involvement, where comedications are frequently necessary. We describe a patient suffering from pancytopenia following a combination therapy of azathioprine and allopurinol because of lupus erythematodes and diabetic nephropathy with hyperuricemia.
