Kisch, Köln, und H. Eppinger, Freiburg. Sitz der Gesellschaft ist das William-G.-Kerckhoff-Herzforschungsinstitut, Bad Nauheim, unter der Leitung von Prof. F. Groedel.    1933 Emigration F. Groedels in die USA.    1933–1941 Prof. E. Koch übernimmt die kommissarische Leitung des Kerckhoff-Instituts, doch Prof. F. Groedel dirigiert das Institut von New York aus.    1938 Emigration B. Kisch‘s in die USA.    1948 Gründung des „American College of Cardiology“ in den USA (Vorstand: Groedel u. Kisch).    1948 Prof. H. Schäfer wird neuer Geschäftsführer der Gesellschaft (Vorstand: K. Matthes, Erlangen, F. Hildebrandt, Bad Nauheim/Giessen, C. Oelemann, Bad Nauheim, und A. Weber, Bad Nauheim, E. Wollheim, Lund).    1952 Übernahme des Kerckhoff-Instituts durch die Max-Planck-Gesellschaft, Berufung von Prof. R. Thauer an das Institut, der bis 1976 die Geschäftsführung der Gesellschaft übernimmt.    1972 Berufung von Prof. W. Schaper an das Kerckhoff-Institut in Bad Nauheim.    1976 Wahl von Prof. W. Schaper in den Vorstand der Gesellschaft und Übernahme des Geschäftsführeramtes bis 1989.

Koch becomes acting chairman but Groedel remains director and influences fate and finances from his New York domicile and practice.    1938 Emigration of B.
