Zusammenfassung

Die temporäre Augendruckerhöhung und das Vorliegen eines histologisch bestätigten Prostatakarzinoms lassen einen Zusammenhang vermuten. Hierfür spricht die Normalisierung der Augendruckwerte nach erfolgreicher Radikaloperation der Prostata. Deshalb sollte bei neu diagnostizierter Augendruckerhöhung gezielt nach evtl. erhöhten PSA-Werten gefragt werden.

Abstract

It is presumed that there is a correlation between a temporary increase in eye pressure and the presence of histologically confirmed prostate cancer. This is supported by the normalization of the eye pressure following successful radical prostatectomy. Therefore, increased PSA (prostate-specific antigen) values should be specifically targeted when newly diagnosed increased eye pressure occurs.
