) in the reflectivity spectra has been found to be blue-shifted with respect to that for bulk CdS. The appearance of the E1(A) peak at about 5 eV is evidence for the hexagonal nature of the particles with the c axis normal or nearly normal to the plane of the film. This suggests the epitaxial nature of the grown particulate films. Another reflectivity peak has been observed at about 320 nm. However, its origin is not yet clear.
