Extraordinary scattering diagram for nanoparticles near plasmon resonance frequencies

Abstract

Light scattering by a small spherical particle with low dissipation rate is discussed according to the Mie theory. It is shown that near plasmon (polariton) resonance frequencies one can see non-Rayleigh anomalous light scattering with quite unusual scattering diagrams.
