Abstract
The bulk metastable Fe83B17 eutectic alloy has been successfully prepared using hypercooling solidification. The bulk alloy consists of αFe and metastable Fe3B phases, without the stable Fe2B phase. Upon isothermal annealing, decomposition of the metastable Fe3B phase (prepared by hypercooling) was investigated, as compared to the corresponding behaviour from amorphous Fe-B alloy.
