Summary

Horseradish peroxidaze (HRP)-catalyzed polymerization of 8-quinolinol proceeded regioselectively to give a soluble poly(quinolino1) (1). Reaction of 1 with Alq'2(Et) (q'= 2-methy-8-quinolinolato) provided a polymer-aluminum complex (2). 2 was photoluminescent both in solutions and in the solid state. Quantum yield (Φ) of the photoluminescence in the chloroform solution was 23%.
