Zusammenfassung

Heinz Rutishauser, Professor für Angewandte Mathematik und Leiter der Fachgruppe für Computerwissenschaften an der ETH Zürich, war massgeblich an der Entwicklung des ersten Schweizer Computers ERMETH beteiligt. Er war ein Pionier auf dem Gebiet der Compiler, wirkte bei der Definition der Programmiersprache Algol 60 mit und leistete wichtige Beiträge zu den Grundlagen der numerischen Mathematik.
