This work is the last one in a series of radiology case books mirroring the format “Top 3 differentials in Radiology: a case review”. It aimed at providing a user-friendly gastrointestinal radiology reference for daily practice, as well as a practical radiology board review.

An amount of 150 cases is presented. Each case is formatted as a two-page unit. On the left page, one to four images and a concise and pertinent clinical history are featured. On the right page, top 3 differential diagnoses are preceded by the key finding gamut, and followed by additional diagnostic considerations, final diagnosis, clinical pearls, and suggested readings.

This work is organized into five parts, successively entitled: (1) Hepatobiliary, (2) Pancreas and Spleen, (3) Gastrointestinal Tract, (4) Mesentery and Vascular, (5) Abdominal Wall and Soft Tissues. An index of differential diagnosis and an index of key findings are proposed at the end of the book. Of course, a complimentary online version is also available.

The author is Rocky C. Sanchez, Vice Chairman, Department of Radiology, Program Director of Diagnostic Radiology Residency, Director of MRI and Musculoskeletal Imaging, Beaumont Hospital, Farrington Hills Campus, Clinical Assistant Professor, Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Lansing, Michigan. A panel of 32 American contributors has collaborated in writing this book.

Displaying 206 high-quality radiologic images covering multiple modalities (X-rays, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, barium fluoroscopy, and computed tomography), this book offers a quick reference book for the physicians on the most common abdominal pathology.

Mostly devoted to radiology residents, both for board study and daily practice, it will also be of great interest for surgery and gastrointestinal fellows, as well as attending physicians.
