As in previous years, the Editor-in-Chief along with the associate editors has had the honour of nominating publications for the Editors’ Medal. Clinical investigations, experimental papers and review articles from the 2018 volume of CVIR were considered. After collecting proposals from the associate editors, the winner was chosen by the Editor-in-Chief.
We are pleased to announce that in 2018 there was not only an increase in qualifying articles, but also an increase in reader interest and author submissions.
This year it is our pleasure to award the CVIR Editors’ Medal 2019 to the author group listed below for their publication on the topic of thermal ablation and chemotherapy for the treatment of small unresectable colorectal liver metastases. The work adds important evidence to the field of treatment of colorectal liver metastases and confirms that thermal ablation is one of the basic treatment principles. This award comes with a considerable monetary prize, as well as a medal and certificate from the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE).
