We are pleased to welcome Dr Shrirang Kulkarni of India, who has joined the WJS editorial board and will serve in the areas of hepatopancreatobiliary and upper gastrointestinal surgery. He was born and raised in India. After obtaining his medical degree from Dr V M Government Medical College Solapur, he joined the Armed Forces Medical Services and completed surgical residency at the Armed Forces Medical College Pune.
He sought his postdoctoral DNB (Surgical Gastroenterology) degree from the Army Hospital Research and Referral New Delhi, where he joined the faculty as an Associate Professor.
His clinical interest is upper gastrointestinal malignancy surgery, with an emphasis on minimally invasive approaches, and he is also deeply committed to the liver transplantation program. He serves as an editorial board member and peer reviewer for several other national and international surgical journals. He enjoys jogging and reading novels in his free time.
