Dr. Barclay Stewart was born in the USA. He obtained his medical degree from Medical University of South Carolina and graduate degrees from London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and Stellenbosch University. He completed residency in general surgery and fellowship in trauma, burn and critical care surgery at University of Washington. Dr. Stewart’s clinical interests focus on care of the injured, burns, emergency general surgery and extracorporeal life support. He has a diverse research pursuits that include global injury prevention and control, models of resuscitation for burn injuries, long-term outcomes of people living with burn injury and microbiome science. Dr. Stewart loves cycling and kayaking with his wife in the Pacific Northwest of the USA and cooking for friends and family.
