The publisher Springer is seeking applications and nominations for the position of the Editor-in-Chief at the journal Abdominal Radiology.

Abdominal Radiology is the official journal of the Society of Abdominal Radiology (SAR) and published in cooperation with the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR), the European Society of Urogenital Radiology (ESUR), and the Asian Society of Abdominal Radiology (ASAR). The journal seeks to meet the professional needs of all abdominal radiologists by publishing clinically pertinent original, review, and practice-related articles. Abdominal Radiology publishes timely topics on the gastrointestinal tract (hollow and solid organs), genitourinary tract (kidneys, ureters, bladder, and pelvic imaging) and abdominal interventional radiologic procedures. The journal receives submissions from all over the world and serves the entire abdominal radiology community.

The journal is led by one Editor-in-Chief, supported by Associate Editors and an Editorial Board nominated by the Editor-in-Chief in close collaboration with the publisher. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the content published in the journal and for ensuring that the publisher’s editorial standards and policies are maintained by adhering to standards of good editorial practice and the publisher’s code of conduct. The role comprises pro-active content acquisition as well as leading and managing the peer-review process in a timely manner in close cooperation with Associate Editors, the Editorial Board, Reviewers, and Authors.

We are looking for individuals with a strong vision on how to lead the journal, grow the published content, and further increase the visibility as well as reputation of the journal in the international community and a clear idea of the pragmatic issues involved in accomplishing this mission. The ideal candidate will have a broad interest and experience in abdominal radiology as well as an excellent network within the community, a desire to lead the journal at the same time maintaining a good cooperation with the Associate Editors and the Editorial Board. The Editor-in-Chief is expected to work closely with the global publisher Springer on all aspects of publishing. The successful candidate should have experience as an editor, associate editor, or pro-active editorial board member of a peer-reviewed journal.

The Editor-in-Chief serves an initial term of 2 years. The term of service for this position starts on January 1st, 2024 and expires on December 31st, 2025.
