Dear colleagues and readers,

Anneliese Sand has been a member of the production staff at Springer for 37 years, and for many of those years she has been in charge of the production process for EJNMMI. Now, after almost 20 years of managing the production of our journal, she has decided it is time to retire and enjoy some new challenges in her life. Those of us who have enjoyed working with Anneliese Sand over the years will never forget her unfailing professional efficiency, sympathy and human warmth. Authors, reviewers, editors and Springer staff have experienced the kind yet precise way in which Anneliese Sand has ensured an appropriate flow of manuscripts for the journal, with prompt availability and unfailing courtesy to the authors, who often presented awkward requests in many different forms. I as editor have enjoyed Anneliese Sand’s support and timely assistance both at the journal office and when travelling to congresses to meet the authors and editorial board. The production timeline of EJNMMI over the years has been based upon, and ensured by, Anneliese Sand’s professional skills, competence and human qualities, which have made her one of the most widely loved production managers in medical literature.

Dear Anneliese, on behalf of all the editors, authors, readers and journal staff, I wish you every personal success and happiness in your new life.
