Abstract

A case of a 69-year-old woman presenting with a fulminating group A streptococcal necrotizing fasciitis of the face and neck is presented. Survival of the patient was due to early recognition of the disease and radical debridement. Integra, a dermal regeneration template, was successfully applied to cover the left hemiface and neck as well as the bony orbit. Integra provided a result that can be favorably compared to other, often much longer and complicated, surgical procedures.
