Abstract

Cranial and cervical vessels are rarely involved in neurofibromatosis type 1. Stenoses and occlusion due to intimal or medial dysplasia are most often seen, followed by aneurysms. We report a rare asymptomatic giant aneurysm of the vertebral artery in a 59-year old man with von Recklinghausen's neurofibromatosis and review the literature.
