Abstract
Pediatric head injury is the most common cause of violent death in infancy. Of particular forensic importance is the differentiation between accidental and non-accidental mechanisms. A thorough forensic neuropathological examination must consider the unique differences that exist anatomically and developmentally in the young child. The broad spectrum of alterations in pediatric neurotrauma is presented.
