Ultrasonic spot welding of aluminum to copper: a review

Abstract

A comprehensive and integrated review about the current state of ultrasonic spot welding of aluminum to copper with numerous crucial issues containing materials flow, plastic deformation, temperature and stress distribution, relative motion, vertical displacement, and behavior of the aluminum oxide layer at the weld interface, as well as macrostructure, microstructure, mechanical properties, and electrical conductivity is provided. Meanwhile, the future trends in this field are offered.
