Abstract.

The increasing complexity of engineering systems has sparked increasing interest in multidisciplinary optimization (MDO), which confronts two main challenges: computational expense and organizational complexity. Furthermore, the computation related to structural strength is the most time-consuming component of MDO in a general way, such as finite element based static structural analysis and mode analysis. In this paper, an FEA multiagent architecture with regard to autonomy, coordination, distribution, reactivity, pro-activity is proposed, where the MDO system will be more effective, robust and flexible. At the same time, an agent-based multidisciplinary optimization system is implemented on an example of excavator working equipment. Simulation results demonstrate the power of the FEA agent.
