Abstract
Pregnancies are a risk factor for the development of varicose veins. During pregnancy all types of primary varicose veins can occur and can often become a severe problem during subsequent pregnancies. In gravidas compression therapy is recommended and post partum several techniques, such as sclerotherapy or mini-phlebectomy are possible. Liquid therapy with 0.5% or 1% lauromacrogol 400 is recommended for the treatment of leg spider veins and is a very effective method with excellent cosmetic results. The combination of mini-phlebotomy under tumescent local anesthesia and sclerotherapy with lauromacrogol 400 is a safe, effective and aesthetically superior technique for the treatment of reticular varicose veins with excellent cosmetic results.
