Ist das Säulenmodell weiter attraktiv?

Zusammenfassung

Vorgestellt wird die Strukturierung des Fachs Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe. Ausgehend von historischen Entwicklungen werden die drei Bereiche des Fachs beschrieben − Gynäkologie und gynäkologische Onkologie, Geburtshilfe einschließlich Pränatalmedizin und Gynäkologische Endokrinologie und Reproduktionsmedizin −, die vor zehn Jahren als „Säulen“, von der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe (DGGG) institutionalisiert wurden. Das Säulenmodell enthält keine Gewichtung oder Wertung, es impliziert vielmehr, dass alle drei Bereiche für das Fach Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe gleich tragend, gleich essenziell sind.

Im Einzelnen wird zudem auf die in den 1960er-Jahren begonnene, bis heute andauernde Entstehung von Schwerpunkten und Subspezialisierungen innerhalb dieser Säulen eingegangen, fokussierend auf Aspekte der Weiterbildung, der Repräsentanz in Fachgesellschaften und der interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit.

Abstract

The structure of the discipline gynecology and obstetrics is presented. Based on historical developments the three specialties of the discipline, gynecology and gynecological oncology, obstetrics including prenatal medicine as well as gynecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine, will be described. They were institutionalized 10 years ago as“pillars” by the German Society for Gynecology and Obstetrics (DGGG). The pillar model does not include any weighting or valuation but in fact implies that all three parts are equally important and essential for the discipline obstetrics and gynecology.

The focal points and subspecialties within the three pillars, which were initiated in the 1960s and continue to the present day, will be dealt with in detail focusing on the aspects of advanced training, representation in professional societies and interdisciplinary cooperation.
