Die korrespondierende Autorin gibt an, dass kein Interessenkonflikt besteht. Die Studie wurde von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) im Rahmen eines Doktorandenprogramms (Graduiertenkolleg 793) gefördert. Die Stuhltests wurden von den Herstellern kostenfrei zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Hersteller hatten keinerlei Einfluss bezüglich Studiendesign, Datenauswertung, Interpretation oder Publikation der Ergebnisse.
