Abstract
What are the needs of sterile women and what are the responsibilities of physicians in reproductive medicine?
Delivering a (healthy) child is the primary concern of every women in sterility treatment. But there is a limited baby take home rate, an increased rate of miscarriages and especially a higher risk of multiples. Because of a lack of knowledge there is a great need for information giving and counseling. The strict regulations by the embryo protection law in Germany contradict special needs of some sterile women: oocyte donation and embryo selection is not allowed in Germany.
