Abstract.
The errors of the lunar ephemeris of Regiomontanus are a function mainly of lunar age. This is because the "variation" in the modern theory has no counterpart in ptolemaic theory. In addition to this sinusoidal error constituent (with zero point at syzygies and an amplitude ±0°.66 at the first and last quarters), there is a constant error due to longitude inconsistencies and a random part ±0°.5 from various sources.
