Abstract

This is a report about a young patient with marble bone disease who suffered from femoral neck nonunion after operative treatment of a dislocated femoral neck fracture. We discuss the treatment options, explain the technical procedure and the difficulties involved in preparations for total hip replacement with a custom-made femoral stem, and present the early postoperative result. Furthermore we comment on cases reported in the literature of patients with marble bone disease and femoral neck fracture, femoral neck nonunion, and total hip replacement.
