Abstract
Pediatric surgery is a discipline with a wide spectrum of treatment. In Germany, depending on the center, this comprises neonatal surgery, pediatric urology, pediatric traumatology, orthopedic surgery, as well as pediatric plastic surgery and dermatology in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Many pathognomonic age-specific visual diagnoses requiring surgical treatment are obvious to the experienced examiner and can be recognized clinically on first sight.
