Abstract
The most important immediate action in cases of anaphylactic reactions is the application of adrenaline, usually via the intramuscular route. Currently, three different adrenaline autoinjectors are on the German market, which exhibit a sufficient broadness of characteristics to fulfil the needs of the vast number of affected patients. In this article the indication criteria for prescription are presented, the number of autoinjectors to be prescribed is debated, the correct injection technique is defined, indications for use are named and practical details are given.
