Abstract
Neuroborreliosis is a regularly occurring infectious disease in childhood in Germany caused by the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi. The main manifestations in children are facial palsy and aseptic meningitis. Other manifestations seem to be rare. The prognosis of the disease when diagnosed and treated early by adequate antimicrobial therapy is favourable. We report the case of a 7-year-old boy who presented with the classic symptoms of a pseudotumour cerebri (benign intracranial hypertension), which turned out to be due to neuroborreliosis. After antimicrobial treatment the symptoms resolved completely.
