Der Internist Aims and scope Submit manuscript

This paper sets out some of the concerns of public hospitals with regard to the casemix funding system and its application. It aims to promote discussion and the identification of means by which these issues can be addressed. This is the first in a series of papers being prepared by The Victorian Healthcare Association Ltd. (VHA) on funding issues. Other papers to be produced over the next 6-12 months will address capital and asset management, alternate models of funding, and output funding for community based services.

(In August 1999 VHA established several focus groups comprising representatives of member agencies to assist with this task.)
