Mexican tropical hardwoods: Attempt to end-use-grouping

Abstract

The properties of 43 Mexican hardwoods had been described in previous papers. In this last report the species are grouped using 18 relevant properties with regard to 15 potential fields of end-uses. For the woodworking industry this data may contribute to a non-devasting sustainable utilization of tropical forests.

Zusammenfassung

43 mexikanische tropische Laubhölzer wurden nach 18 relevanten Eigenschaften in 15 Verwendungsgruppen eingereiht. Diese Daten können für die holzverarbeitende Industrie einen Beitrag liefern für den Übergang zu einer selektiven Nutzung von tropischen Wäldern unter Berücksichtigung des Prinzips der Nachhaltigkeit.
