Abstract
Due to the importance of boron as wood preservative a simple detection method for borate treated wood was developed. Inorganic borates are extracted quantitative from solid wood in an ultrasonic bath using an aqueous solution of mannit. The following detection is done by photometric measurement according to AWPA A2 standard and DIN 384085, respectively.
